Microsoft, the tech giant, and SAS, the business analytics software and services firm, called for a strategic partnership wherein Azure will become the preferred cloud platform for SAS’ analytics portfolio. These two companies are working together to enable customers to run their SAS workload on the cloud easily. Shifting the workload will expand the business solutions and exploit their capabilities, which will help in making the digital transformation.
A part of the partnership also calls for the migration of SAS analytical products and industry solutions onto Microsoft Azure. Going further, the partnership can be called as a SAS integration of Microsoft Cloud Solutions for Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365.
With this partnership, both companies will elevate their shared vision to democratize AI and analytics.
“Microsoft and SAS will help our customers in accelerating growth and find new ways to drive innovation with a broad set of SAS analytics offerings on Microsoft Azure,” said Scott Guthrie, Microsoft Executive Vice President of Cloud and AI.
“Localized flooding is something all communities experience, and ours is no exception,” said Nicole Raimundo, Cary’s Chief Information Officer, in a statement. “Using sensors, weather data, SAS IoT analytics and the Azure IoT platform, we expect to increase situational awareness of rising stream levels, predict where flooding might occur, and improve our emergency response through automation. Cary is also proud to be able to share this data with our neighboring communities to help them better serve their citizens,” she added.
Both companies are working together to ensure the successful deployment of SAS products and solutions on Azure.
“SAS and Microsoft have a shared vision of helping customers accelerate their digital transformation initiatives. We both understand that it is about enrichment of data and improving lives through better decisions,” said Oliver Schabenberger, SAS Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
The company also mentioned that more things are coming up along with this partnership. It includes optimizing SAS Viya, the latest release of the company’s cloud-native offerings, integrating SAS portfolio of industry solutions—from fraud to risk to retail—into the Azure marketplace.
